About Us

Jenny de Klerk (Physiotherapist)

Qualifications:
  • BSc (Phys) Degree at University of Cape Town (2000)
Professional Memberships:
  • Health Professions Council of South Africa
  • Health Professions Council of United Kingdom
  • South African Society of Physiotherapy

I was born and grew up in Cape Town where I worked for 6 months before moving to the UK for 10 years. I initially worked as a locum in different NHS hospitals for 2 years where I was very fortunate to have learnt from some excellent clinicians.

I then moved to the Nuffield Health Brentwood Hospital in 2003 and worked there until I moved back to South Africa in September 2011. I developed my skills in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic specialities in close conjunction with local consultants and was appointed Clinical Lead Physiotherapist in 2009. I am an APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute) trained pilates instructor.

Since moving back to Cape Town I have continued to gain experience in the musculoskeletal field and in 2015 moved my practice to Now Space West, Westlake Square in the Southern Suburbs. My Pilates classes are run from 3 different studios located in Westlake, Tokai and Constantia.

When I'm not working I love spending time outdoors either hiking, running, cycling or walking my dog in one of the many beautiful locations Cape Town has to offer.

Testimonials

Jenny is both knowledgeable and personable and as such has assisted me with rehabilitating my back and manage various other injuries whilst providing a wonderful nurturing and healing space.

Jenny De Klerk has been both my Physiotherapist and Pilates instructor for the past 4-5 years and I could not recommend her more highly. Jenny is both knowledgeable and personable and as such has assisted me with rehabilitating my back and manage various other injuries whilst providing a wonderful nurturing and healing space. Our Pilates class is a mixture of hard work and lots of fun as we all engage well with each other and I look forward to Thursdays with Jen and the wonderful people I see each week.

She's incredibly thoughtful and tailors the sessions to each person's needs and experience. Classes are small, focused and Jenny provides individual attention.

I started doing Pilates for the first time after suffering a health set back. I must admit that I was not the keenest. However, after over a year now I'm definitely grateful for the exposure. Jenny is a fantastic teacher and experienced physio. She's incredibly thoughtful and tailors the sessions to each person's needs and experience. Classes are small, focused and Jenny provides individual attention. Results have been fantastic! Absolutely love and can recommend the classes to anyone seeking rehabilitation, strengthening or lighthearted fun!

Jenny’s expertise is exceptional and she is thorough, attentive and compassionate - she genuinely cares for her clients.

I highly recommend Jenny de Klerk Physiotherapy Practice for both one-on-one physiotherapy treatments as well as group Pilates classes. Both my husband and I have seen Jenny many times over the years for various neck, back and knee ailments and have left Jenny’s practice having both our mobility and comfort restored. The Pilates classes are a fun way to build up core muscle strength and have worked brilliantly for me in terms of preventing further back issues. Jenny’s expertise is exceptional and she is thorough, attentive and compassionate - she genuinely cares for her clients.

Jenny has effectively treated these aches and pains via physiotherapy and pilates - an excellent combination.

Jenny has proven time and again to be an outstanding medical professional. She continuously shows genuine interest in my health and has provided treatment that has not only alleviated acute pain but that has also had a lasting positive impact on my wellbeing. Given today’s stressful lifestyle which keeps so many of us hunched over computers all day, I developed a number of musculoskeletal issues, such as neck spasm that would lead to terrible headaches. Jenny has effectively treated these aches and pains via physiotherapy and pilates - an excellent combination. Jenny offers both with great insight, enthusiasm and professionalism.

Extremely knowledgeable about Pilates, but she is also a Physiotherapist so her knowledge of the body and its complexities is amazing.

I have been attending weekly Pilates classes with Jen for a few years now. She is absolutely excellent! Extremely knowledgeable about Pilates, but she is also a Physiotherapist so her knowledge of the body and its complexities is amazing. She checks in with each person before we start the class and listens with great care to the info and designs our sessions accordingly. I always come away from the sessions feeling stronger and rejuvenated. Go see Jen, you will be glad you did.

I have found her to be knowledgeable in her field and her treatment of me has always been both professional and caring.

I first went to Jenny in 2015 with arthritis in my spine. I have found her to be knowledgeable in her field and her treatment of me has always been both professional and caring. She has a holistic approach to her treatments. I improved radically and have since recommended many people to Jenny all of who have been very happy with their treatment.
